I would like to hear the fan's views on who they think Camelon's greatest players past and present are.

Here are my personal favourites. Best Goalkeeper Ronnie Macpherson. Best Defender George Fairlie. Best midfielder Ronnie Scott/Sean Bonner/Jack Ross. Best attacker Davy Flynn Although Chris McFadden is a close second. I was gutted when he went to Lithgy. We cant forget Christie and Crunchie two of the best wingers the junior game has ever seen. Although the Scottish winning team would get the overall best award I think the team we have now could go on to be great. What does everyone else think. PS I would love to see McFadden in our current team, We would take some stopping because he would give us something different up front.

I don't really think McFadyen would fit in due to him slowing down. Our strong points of our game is our pace up front. Counter attacking football.

I have not seen much of the recent Camelon teams, but my memories of days gone by are still fresh in my mind. Duke Rae and John Walker were goal scorers, that none could touch. My very good, but late friend, George Simpson, used to keep a detailed game by game, team by team, and goal scorer by goal scorer account of the Juniors. In these books would be a superb insight into goal scorers especially. Off track for a minute, but i remember the brilliant David Frickleton, score the most bizarre goal ever at Carmuirs Park. on the left touchline, about 25-30 yards from goal, Davie went into block a tackle from his opponent (Tranent i think) and the ball ricoched of his shins, shot over the goalie and into the net. He didn't score many goals....3 i believe in his Camelon career, but he was the hardest and fairest player in all junior fooball, a legend amongst those who had the privilige to know him. After him came Gordon MacPherson, another old campaigner who would've run through brick walls for the cause, and a great personality, with whom i still see round Falkirk, and we acknowledge each other with genuine goodwill. There are so many players i remember who should be in there, and there are so many i know who shouldn't. Who remembers big Haggs (Haggerty) from Maddiston, a mad and bad goalie, but that's for another day. John McLaughlin was one of the best goalkeepers i've seen at Carmuirs, and Peter McArthur, a great servant who would play any position for the cause, and a great gentleman. Bobby Westhingyer, was a fanastic right back, and it was between him and Walter Kidd, whom Willie Ormond ws going to sign for Hearts. History will show Bobby was shamefully overlooked for clugger Kidd. Kevin McAllister would walk unrivalled into any Camelon team, first man there, why he didn't get a senior Scotland cap remains a mystery. Jim (Tubby) Harkins could play a bit too. Last but not least, Jimmy Allan was a magnificent player in his time, and my father, Pat Cole, kept telling me he was a great left winger, i only ever had his and Jimmys word for it.
